David Qadir is a Dublin-born, London-based singer-songwriter and musician. His musical creations span alternative post-rock, contemporary classical, and electronica. In addition to his instrumental work under the moniker Drab Habit, he is also part of the alternative folk duo Ah, Lucidity.
David’s musical journey began with a guitar and a love for Seattle grunge – think Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots, with a dash of 60s & 70s classic rock like Hendrix and Led Zep. Self-taught and forever curious, his musical tastes have broadened over time, leading him to explore diverse recording and production techniques.
His first DIY productions were heavily guitar-based, recorded on a trusty Boss BR900 8-track (which he still can’t bear to part with). These days, while his Gibson Les Paul and Epiphone Sheraton II still hold prime real estate in his home studio, you’ll hear synths, brass, and strings taking the lead in many of his compositions. David’s new single, “Home”, was released on 15th November 2024. His lyrical work delves into personal narratives and emotional landscapes, offering a unique perspective that complements his instrumental compositions.
